Paying tribute to traditional art, design and craftsmanship and honoring the age-old legacy of himalayan heritage, Mt. Refuge is a contemporary design studio. Art goes beyond stereotypical definitions and art exists in our everyday life in multiple ways. Mt. Refuge aims to revive this knowledge through distinctive interior design pieces which bring new dimensions to creativity. |

The website documents the design studio’s philosophy, values and approach to sustainability. Curves n’ Colors designed a clean, modern website for Mt. Refuge that doesn’t take away the viewers attention from the limited edition Tiger rugs, and retains their brand essence of Ancient World Contemporary. |

For the first collection, Mt. Refuge collaborated with artist Tsherin Sherpa to provide homage to ancient Tibetan rugs and specifically the tradition of Tiger rugs. The first collection is a limited edition Tiger rugs collection that brings to life Tsherin Sherpa’s fierce designs. Tiger rugs are one of the most esoteric art forms of this tradition. The first collection features a wide variety of abstraction and a high level of artistic sophistication.
On the third day of Lhosar, March 5, 2022 the day that marks the beginning of the Year of the Water Tiger, the launch event of the first collection was held at Hotel Yak and Yeti. The collection was inaugurated by His Excellency, Mr. Randy Berry, the Ambassador of the USA to Nepal.

Mt. Refuge will showcase a traditional loom in Nepal’s debut at the Venice Biennale. The showcase aims to increase visibility and discourse on refined Himalayan and Nepali art and create a space to honor the high levels of sophistication.
It has been an incredible journey to work with Mt. Refuge team, and to bring their vision to life. From building the brand vision, mission, values and brand narrative to planning the first launch event and designing their website, working with the founder of Mt. Refuge Mr. Jigme Wangchuk Lama has been a deeply edifying experience for us.
