The world is going through a pandemic. We cannot go out of our own houses, we’re practising social distancing, and constantly checking the news.
The corona pandemic might take a toll on our mental health. The goal now should be to work at mental health maintenance, as frequently as we can, in order to be able to think clearly and function at our highest level.
There are 3 ways how you can check in with your mental health while social distancing :
Prioritize mental clarity
The first step to mental health progress is mental clarity. If you are not clear enough about yourself or your life, you will not be able to function properly. To prioritize mental clarity, take some time to reflect on your feelings. Writing can be one fine way to find out what you actually feel. If you haven’t been feeling yourself because you haven’t had free time, devote some time to yourself and tune out from the world for a few hours.

Be realistic about worries
One fundamental strategy of Stoicism is to not worry about things that you cannot control. Even if you have to worry, worry logically. Worry about things you can control like not going out of the house till the lockdown ends, practising good hygiene, etc.
Get enough sleep
The body requires sleep to function properly. Without the needed number of sleep hours, our body cannot function well. Get around 7-8 hours of sleep every night in order to function properly.
This is an important time to practice #selfcare and #rejuvenate yourself by taking the time to do the things you have missed doing! Hope we come out of this unscathed and energized to hit the ground running!
